Drummer and composer Amélie G. kickstarts her solo artist career with introspective new single, Cut Me Deeper (and Destroy Me), released on 7th May 2020.

The single –produced by Etienne Pelosoff (Trve Brutal Black Jazz)- combines synths and cinematic chain sounds to create infectious dark industrial pop. Drums and striking beats combined with Amélie’s gentle vocals evoke a tormented yet oneiric reality.

Cut Me Deeper (and Destroy Me) is about coping with pain and rebirth. Of the track, “You know when a tree is all burnt from the inside, you can’t just wait and hope for it to grow again. You have to finish it up. Now imagine you are this tree. As much as it’s full of anger, disappointment, and pain, this song is about looking for a way to grow back and heal.” Amélie elaborates “It all started with the destruction of a wall. My brother had to go film a wall being destroyed, so I asked him to record as many sounds as he could on the site. I’ve always been fascinated by the textures of sounds. All these machines and this industrial atmosphere of destruction inspired me so much, I had to make something with it.”

This clearly reflects in this new release called ‘Home' ,which was written in an atmosphere of uncertainty. The musical elements in 'Home' allude the paradoxical current state of the world, the human desire to explore the outside and beyond whilst being enforced to stay at home.

VAN ELST - HOME

VAN ELST sculpts sound with the delicate textures of “Home”. Inclusion of a grand variety of different styles filters into the mix. Electro, industrial, dream pop with an intense flair, there is a surrealness to the way it unfurls. Lyrics go for a lovely cadence the way they simply wax poetic. Repetition is key for there is a certain mantra that comes alongside the looping aspect. Asian elements appear within the tactile sounds further lending it a sort of global quality. By keeping everything rather atmospheric it lingers in the mind long after the track has ended.

Epic drones introduce the piece. Setting the tone, they prove to be a critical element of the overall path. Beats hit hard with a sheer physicality, the bass simply crunching. Vocals opt for something ethereal while they blend into the overall cadence of the sound. By keeping things rather spacious there is a psychedelic element to it that only grows with time. Looping further adds to this hypnotic quality for it all simply stuns in a way that is so tremendously powerful. Echoing effects further emphasize the whole waking dream quality of it all, helping to disorient the listener and distort time. Rhythms chug along with an almost force of nature approach, going more for emotional impact, serving as punctuation to the importance of the lyricism.

“Home” reveals VAN ELST to be a true purveyor of finely attuned textures, creating a universe unto itself. Review by Beachsloth.

Fourth chapter of a series that began with 2007’s “Whispers Of The Approaching Wastefulness” (Cyclic Law). A Conceptual soundtrack envisioning the evolution of a fictional story and of which will soon come a VR experience. After centuries of isolation the human race begins a journey in search of the causes that led to the end of its world, and for the first time it approaches the Structures, new life forms that have developed and evolved in the emptiness of “The Outside”. Through this cinematic landscape we find again the now well known and unique sonic approach to Dark Ambient by Stielh, one of Italy’s true master of the genre.

Ruptured World is a cinematic dark ambient music project that combines atmospheric soundscapes with spoken word.

The project uses a range of audio techniques, including digital sound design, live instrumentation, field recordings and the integration and manipulation of live samples to create an otherworldly blend of sonic textures, haunted pianos, melodic signatures and subliminal drones.

Ruptured World incorporates storytelling into its unique sound palette with generic adaptations of cosmic horror, science fiction, weird tales and folklore.

There are points in existence, in the cosmos itself, where the extremes of physical order begin to collapse, to disintegrate, to create spaces in which the primal chaos of the universe reveals itself, where it surges and reigns, by whatever craft of enablement or wonderment is necessary.

Brooding, ethereal and tragedian in scope, "Frontiers of Disorder" mixes mystical fusions of supernal reverie with distorted cadences, field recordings of strange import, and the dread perceptions of the void.

The exoplanetary deep space mission to Proxima Centauri b has reached its intended destination. Work begins on assessing the planet for its suitability as a site of colonial expansion and habitation for an increasingly desperate human race.

But there are problems.

"Exoplanetary" features fragments of transmissions amid sonorous and distorted interpretations of narrative events as the mission faces up to the challenges of off-world exploration and the inescapable fact that, on Proxima Centauri b, the human visitors are not alone.

Ruptured World is back with a new album, Archeoplanetary, expanding on the storyline of previous album, Exoplanetary, and presenting an intriguing prequel to its atmosphere of cosmic horror and its prevailing themes of supraliminal close encounters and unknown worlds.

Walls of reverb, grumbling bass and echoing, pitched up vocals with banging IDM rhythms. Allicorn is influenced heavily by black metal, psychedelic dance music, goth, new age and 90's shoegaze. What flows from that mixture is a dreamy, melodic sound with a feel of the fatalist, the bleak, and the dark. Witch House, Witchgaze, Darkwave.

HAPAX is a Darkwave/Postpunk project born in Naples in 2014, whose three albums have been produced in collaboration with the Swiss dark night label. After 4 years of performances all around Europe and America, the last release Monade came out, a concept album about the impossibility to communicate based on the idea, that there is a hopless gap between reality and words. Monade tour started in september 2019 at the Ncn Festival with a redesigned band line-up including a drummer and a new live set.

Back on track with our artist discoveries today we bring you a duo from Russia.

Thewalkingicon project was formed in early 2018 by Sasha Rempel, the singer for Kaliningrad break-beat act INSPIRA and Dmitry Osipov, the member and founder of famous Moscow Alternative and Industrial 90-s pioneers Crocodile T.X. and Thaivox.

For Osipov thewalkingicon was the return for his favoirite “bedroom production” format, wich also made a start for Thaivox in 1997. The decades of musical experience plus the vox and stage charisma finally transformed into highly lyrical material, very surprising especially after looking at what Sasha makes in INSPIRA and what Dmitry plays as a member of Moscow heavy hardcore long-livers Fallen Angels Crew.

The combination of the Russian duo bring us to a new soundscape where the balance between the voice of Sasha Rempel goes hand to hand with the dark melodies and electronic structures produced by Osipov, giving the listener a doorway to their musical universe.

An electronic duo working from 2 opposite corners of the world. They just released a new album called Dark Seasons, and as the name suggests it is an immersive trip into dark electronic. The captive collaboration between Lucia Fenix (Chile) and Rob Bryant (Australia) once again delivers a beautiful masterpiece to the listener.

Unknown Land - Dark Seasons

A beautiful nightmarish take on darkwave, Unknown Land creates their own unique universe with “Dark Seasons”. Layer upon layer intermingles in a gorgeous way. The arrangements go for such depth as they plunge to the utmost of a shadow world. Synthesizers have a tactile quality to them barely balanced always threatening utter chaos. It is a testament to their skill that they opt instead for restraint. Vocals have a mysterious aura to them, defying any and all easy categorization. With each piece yet another chapter in a greater story the tracks combine into a kaleidoscopic whole.

Prickly woozy keys introduce the album with the longing “Gargoyles”. Beats choose for a spacious quality, going for something more emotional than time-keeping. Truly gorgeous “Kingdom” serves as the highlight of the album for they strip things down to the absolute essentials, with a haunting melody that lingers in the mind. Feeling strong reminiscent of Depeche Mode at the peak of their powers “Siren” has a glowing, neon-hued atmosphere to it, embodying a late night after the party vibe. Nimble percussion intermingles throughout the playful tact of “Fireflies”. Over the course of the piece, the song messes with listener expectations forgoing easy categorization. Effortlessly bringing things to a close the colossal take of “Hollow” expands up, outright soaring into the sky.

“Dark Seasons” reveals a world right beyond the periphery of perception, surrealism that reveals Unknown Land’s uncanny knack at delving into virtual symphonies. Review by Beachsloth.

A few days ago I was in the search of new sounds for our Spotify Synthwave Mixtape when I discovered Magnavolt.

I was astonished by the sound of their song Corruption that without giving a thought I added automatically to our playlist ModulatorUK Synth Planet. After some research, I contacted Magnavolt on social media and I was delighted when he accepted to be interviewed for our music blog.

Asking about the background story behind the musical project Magnavolt recalls that a long time ago he used to to be human until an evil corporation took everything away from him. In order to gain power he gave his soul away to the Grimm Reaper and now he is seeking revenge.

Q&A

MR - Pretty cool story behind the character. How will you describe your sound?

MV - Dark Experimental Electronic Music with an 80s vibe. I was producing Dreamwave and a bit of Darksynth, but after 5 years I felt I needed to do something different. Dark music is where I belong.

MR - What is the production process of your tracks? Can you please name some of your favorite Synths?

MV - For some years I was mainly using computer software, but I knew that one day I will invest in real Analog Synthesizers. The first Synthesizer I bought was in November last year. Right now I have 11 Synthesizers in my studio. Love them all, but my favorites are Dave Smith PROPHET REV2 and ROLAND JUNO 106, mainly because I can tweak and create sound on the go. The Prophet is a beast for dark tunes and Juno 106 gives that 80s taste to every track.

MR - Wow that sounds like a dream studio! We would love to see some photos one day. What is your main goal as a producer?

MV - My main goal as a Producer is to have fun. Share the story I wrote throughout my music. I would love to organize everything so one day I can do a live show.

MR - What drove you to become a musician?

MV - I was raised by parents who love music, so I had it in my blood from the beginning, just didn't realize it. But I decided to make my own music when I listened to band called ''Le Cassette'' back in 2014.

MR - How do you approach the challenge of being a musician in 2019?

MV - It's getting harder year by year, especially in the synth-wave world. There are lots of Producers doing the same, no innovation, It feels more like copy-paste. That was one of the reasons why I wanted to create Magnavolt. I feel that 80s electronic music should evolve and focus on new generations, not just going back to 1980s. There's a whole world to explore music production.

MR - What are your future plans?

My future plans are to keep making music of course. Soon I will start working on my new EP. I've been working on the idea of a comic book about my character Magnavolt. I would love to work in short films using my music as a soundtrack.

Swiss Opera singer Morganne Matteuzzi presents her new single Rewind. The mix between Opera and Electro caught our attention. Morgane decided to break these confines in order to create something unique; using the beauty of opera singing with the modernity of electronic sounds in order to create a new type of musical journey. We contacted her to learn more about the mind behind the music.

MR - What can you tell us about the writing process of this single?

MM - I composed this Song with a real spirit of freedom. I decided to create it without using metronome or time signature, to have something closer to improvisation in a way. Every time I compose I don't really know what is going to come out. For this song, I basically improvised with my voice and over-layered it. When I found harmonies that I liked, I included some sounds that would add depth and make everything sound better. When I was happy with my composition I sent it to my friend Etienne Pelosoff who mixed it and arranged it. I love working with him, he always finds a way to make everything sound better while respecting what I want to express. I am currently working with him on my first EP Distorted Opera Electro that will be out very soon.

MR - What is the concept and idea behind the music you are creating?

MM - Since I was a child I was always asked to choose between classical music, opera singing and my passion for modern music such as electro. I have never been able to make up my mind and fit in any of these boxes as I found beauty in all of these styles. In my single 'Rewind' I used a lot of reversed sounds, I am obsessed with the concept of reversed sounds and watching videos backward as if the act of rewinding something showed us an alternate reality, another story and another way to view things.

MR - Tell us more about the video? What is the creative idea and what would you like to communicate?

MM - In my music, I have always swayed between the feeling of pain and hope. In the video, initially most of the images are really dark and suddenly colors appear. I see it as a fight between darkness and light. I have synesthesia it means that whenever I hear a sound I automatically see a shape, a texture and sometimes even a color connected to it. It isn't a choice it's just the way it is. when I compose I always choose sounds that give me pleasant shape and textures. Whenever I listen to music it is as if I was lost in the middle of an incredible painting!

Their textures on the production where so dark and ritualistic that caught my attention. I wanted to know who was behind those fascinating soundscapes so I got in touch with the mind behind to conduct an exclusive interview for Modulator Records to find out more about their sound and terrifying melodies.

NERATERRÆ is a Dark Ambient music project produced by Italian musician Alessio Antoni. His debut album “The Substance of Perception” (out now on Cyclic Law) is a daring collaborative work featuring some of the finest artists from the Dark Ambient, Drone, Cinematic and Ritual Music scene: Northaunt, Alexey Tegin from Phurpa, Treha Sektori, New Risen Throne, Flowers For Bodysnatchers, Taphephobia, Ugasanie, Xerxes The Dark and Infinexhuma.

The Substance of Perception by NERATERRÆ

The sound palette shifts between both stark atmospheres, melancholic ambiance and dense claustrophobic drones. Alternating between obscurity and light and oscillating between the ineffable detachment from the tangible and the relentless transmogrification of the self.

Official Music Video for the song "Shadows of Regret" (feat. Northaunt).

Q&A

How would you describe your sound?

I make Dark Ambient music alternating a wide range of atmospheres and colors, from more classic melancholic ambiance to cinematic dense drones to ritualistic-alike episodes. I like to move between themes and nuances, I’m not the kind of musician/producer who’s into only one specific color or theme.

What can you tell us about your musical influences?

I’ve always been a big fan of good music in general (what sounds good to me, at least), and I may talk for hours about that, let’s limit this to the Electronic field only: there are certain artists that I’ve been listening for over 15 years (and more in some cases) who have always been a big source of inspiration to me, acts such as ASC, Atrium Carceri, Bass Communion, Biosphere, Carbon Based Lifeforms, Cities Last Broadcast, H.U.V.A. Network, Jon Hopkins, Kammarheit, Lustmord, New Risen Throne, Northaunt, Phelios, Richard Barbieri, Solar Fields, Steven Wilson, Svartsinn, Ulver (and maybe some more) have left a mark on the way I conceive my music.

What I love to do is to keep digging, over the last 5/6 years I’ve found some truly amazing records in the fields of Electronic music, It’s a beautiful neverending journey. On an extra-musical aspect, I can get inspired by many different things, like a picture, movies, landscapes, books, art in general, particular events, and personal experiences of course.

What is your main goal as a producer?

I tend to do what I want to, no strings attached, and I want to do it at my best, that’s for sure. I think that to produce interesting music, yet emotional and evocative - while keeping an eye open on the aesthetic value of the artwork - is what everyone aims for, I’m into it.

What drove you to become a musician?

My parents did since they got me into music when I was a kid. My first instrument was a drumkit and I was like 4 or 5 y.o. From 7 to 12 I pursued classical studies as a pianist, then I switched to guitar but got back to drums at 16 (and never stopped since).

How do you approach the challenge of being a Musician/Producer in 2019?

It’s hard, It’s changed a lot during the last 15 years. I personally prefer the way music used to be in the good old times, you know; Let’s say that on a record-deal side I’ve been lucky enough to be covered by a great label, which is undoubtedly helpful. Regardless of the music genre, nowadays the problem is the lack of originality and-or-content and the exposure that everyone is aiming for, no matter what, this “mixture” has altered the fragile equilibrium. There still are some beautiful exceptions, but we all see where the trend has brought us all.

Talking about live activity, (Dark) Ambient wise, well, that is something almost nonexistent, especially in Italy, which does not help, as you all can easily imagine.

What can you tell us about the highlights of your career?

I consider my debut album “The Substance of Perception” the proper ‘highlight’ of my career so far, you know, I just didn’t expect to see my first record to be released by an important label of the scene like Cyclic Law, that’s just beyond great.

What are your future plans?

I’m currently working on some new material that is going to be part of my second album; plus, I’m co-writing music for a new project, alongside two other fantastic musicians, and hopefully, we will bring something to light in late 2019/early 2020.

This week we bring you some Experimental IDM from out of the space.

Aevin emerged as the need to explore the coexistence of harmony, traditional composition along with the blurry lines of electronica and sound design. Mangling the coldness of the digital realm and the nostalgia of the analog days, delivered as an infinite collage of abstract beats, earworm melodies, mind drilling frequencies, and dusty piano. This is an example of the masterpiece he created.

Aevin is Teo Tsalmpouris, a Greek digital media artist. While young, he was inspired and influenced by bands like Tangerine Dream, Krafwerk and Gong. Years later, around the mid-'90s, still passionate about everything electronic, Teo was naturally attached to Psychedelic Trance and the Rave scene, while still exploring the back-then-underground European electronica; Squarepusher, Eight Frozen Modules, etc.

He has released three albums by which two were released by the German label Raumklang Music. Aevin has also participated in various compilations, most notably in the "TOUCHED 3" compilation, amongst artists like Future Sound of London, Autechre, etc. Furthermore one of his tracks was selected by Plaid (Warp Records) to be included in their promotional mix for their album "The Digging Remedy".

In January 2019, he released the album Gravity. You can stream his latest album "Gravity" in full and his previous albums here.

"Pigeon Whisperer" is an interpretation of the last days of Nikola Tesla. The following track appears in the huge electronic compilation "Touched 3".
I Ya Toyah is a Chicago based independent musician that blends the chaos and balance with a familiar vibe of industrial electronica sound. Her music melts the smooth, cutting edge vocals, surreal guitars, hypnotizing beats and multiple electronic synth elements into dark arrangements that, combined with storytelling lyrics, respond to the paranoia of everyday reality.

I contacted her for a little interview in order to discover more about her music and persona.

How will you describe your sound?

My sound is a mix of industrial, electronica and rock influenced by 90's music era. Some other sounds include goth inspirations. My music is definitely dark both sound and lyric wise. When it comes to my voice, it has been described as 'a pissed off Lady Gaga'.

What can you tell us about your musical influences?

I'm inspired by a whole lot of different artists. My musical tastes and therefore the sound was definitely shaped by the music of NiN, Depeche Mode, Muse, Chris Cornell with Soundgarden and Audioslave, Crystal Method and more. My vocal style takes from Aretha Franklin, Sade, all the way to Guano Apes' Sandra Nasić, Garbage, Cory Taylor, Concrete Blonde's Johnette Napolitano, In This Moment's Maria Brink, and a ton more. I'm heavily influenced by the grunge era, by 90's sounds, and just dark themed music in general.

What is your main goal as a musician?

I want to connect through my music, with people who lived through similar shit that I experienced, those who tasted darkness up close, maybe learned to live with it, maybe still struggling, trying to find the way. I wanna be able to play live and tour both US and Europe at some point as well. It's challenging, as I'm still prepping my live show- it's a lot of tech work, tech knowledge. Also, I definitely have a deep need to help increase the awareness of suicide prevention and mental health importance- 15% of my physical album sales are going to the American Foundation For Suicide Prevention. I wanna be able to keep creating-writing and producing music to share it.

What drove you to become a musician?

Passion. Since I can remember. I was singing before I talked hehe. In Poland, as a couple years old child, I'd use a broom and run around home singing and imagining it's my microphone. When I was 5, I picked up my big sister's guitar and learned basic stuff. Later I'd go to music school to study music. I'm very emotional and writing lyrics and music helps me deal with stuff, it's sort of a therapy. But nothing can compare to live performance, when this energy between the audience and stage is so strong it feeds me for weeks after. It's crazy. It's addictive. It's love. So I have no choice but to be a musician.

How do you approach the challenge of being musicians in 2018?

I work restlessly - I'm a DIY girl, I love doing things around music and music business. I never thought I'd be writing, recording and producing my stuff- not to mention trying to pull the whole performance on my own- I've been a band girl before, normal, you know, with band practices, going to studio to record, etc. It's challenging to be a musician today, but I think we shouldn't focus on the hard part- there is so much positive energy coming from doing all this work, it is priceless. I always say that I'd choose the most fucked up day in music reality over the best day ever outside of it. This is how I approach it.

What can you tell us about the highlights of your career?

In all the ups and downs, I sort of feel on the highlight right now. I feel rewarded just to see how well the first single, Code Blue, did. I got positive reviews by both the audience and industry professionals, got on the big Chicago Radio, WKQX known as Q101, is now featured on some prominent Spotify playlists and is part of industrial dark music compilations. And it's just the beginning- I could talk about my past bands' glories but now I'm here to do this thing, one girl thing. Excited about what future brings!

What are your future plans?

I'm going to release the second single: Farewell- Mirrors Don't Lie, on July 27th. With that release I'm also tweaking my live show preps, it honestly is a ton of work but I love it and am getting closer. The full album release is coming on October 26th, but I'll have a little music surprise before that release, in September so keep your eyes and ears open for that. The release show will take place in November- I'll have date soon, and other dates following. Next year will be active with more writing and playing here in US, and I'm thinking to hit Europe and my country, Poland, at some point as well- I'll definitely stay busy and keep you all updated on stuff, so make sure you check my website and subscribe to get the news as they come!

I wanted to know more about the story behind the video so I contacted Marcus the lead singer of Eyemouth in order to find out more.

What is the motivation behind this new Single?

We wanted to release Legacy of nature since it stood out in a way. Not necessary as a traditionally single, it is quite weird in an eyemouthic kind of way. Håkan got in touch with Peter Zackariasson (video-director) who really got the mood of the song and came up with some ideas that we really liked and the result is really pleasing.

While listening to our old song Kryptomnesia we found that there was some kind of nerve that got well with Legacy of nature. In a way, the protagonist in Kryptomnesia could be the person in Legacy of nature if his soul wouldn't be found. We got really glad by the idea since it felt kind of sad to let a song we liked a lot just be lying in the draw.

Even if it's just an outtake we think it sounds good together with The legacy of nature.

What is the story behind the video?

Peter Zackariasson (vice-director): The lyric deals with the issue of finding yourself at a place in life you’re not happy with. So we played around with that idea. The repetition of daily life and realization. Music, in this case, is used in the form of counter-movement, as Shaman of the forest - city vs. nature. Spiritual and connection with the natural as a remedy for city life. Although the video suggests that the role of the shaman is only temporary, unmasking and transforming at the end of the video.

An amazing dark project coming from Sweden. Presenting a soundscape with a unique blend of mellotrons and organic elements such as vibraphone, santur, and accordion, together with an atmospheric and almost psychedelic rock instrumentation.

With a distance, reverie and dark undertones, EyeMouth claims their music aims to provide a deeper understanding of different aspects of life.

Formed in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 2014. The current members of the band have played in various bands through the years. Håkan has a background in punk bands like Asocial and Distrust, before turning his attention to more goth inspired acts. Marcus and Joakim have played together in different bands, mainly Estrange, which also happens to be the grounds by which Eyemouth is built upon.

They released their debut Ep ‘Black and Blue Latitudes’ in early 2015, and later that year this was followed by another three Ep´s called ‘Non Compos Mentis’, ‘Noera Genesis’ and ‘The Flood’. Their first full album, ‘A Newly Planted Grain’, came out in late 2017.

Intrigued to know more about their history I contacted them to conduct an interview for our music blog.

I have to say I felt very connected to this band as I found their songs very unique and spiritual. Their melodies have the power to connect your soul and energy with echoes of your past life. Their music will take you to a place where you have been a 100 years ago. It has an encrypted key in their melodies and frequencies. Secrets to a better understanding of the universe. Beautiful music to open the doors of perception, music to connect with your inner self and nature.

What can you tell us about your musical influences?

Some of our main influences are probably Swans, Jarboe, Current 93, Nick Cave and The Cure of course! Don´t know how this gets through in reality, but there it is. Especially Current 93 has been a vast of inspiration. It’s such a versatile band that instills us a drive to keep pushing ourselves. It’s the most beautiful, the most painful and the most healing music there is. And it opens up a gate to new explorations. Some of the more recent bands/artists that really gets to us and must be mentioned are Chelsea Wolfe and Anna von Hausswolff. So inspiring!

How will you describe your sound?

Our main focus is to get the sounds and the atmosphere to match the tension in our songs. We kind of love melodies, but at the same time, we love meditative and suggestive ambiances. So a kind of a struggle is mostly going on. Many times we patch a drone sound upon our modular system and attend to create some music, just to wake up hours later from our dreaming slumber. There is certainly something enthralling about a drone.

Then again, we´ve always tried to reach a more organic sound by adding assorted instruments like trombone, glockenspiel, harp, and saxophone, together with a more classic rock instrumentation based on drums, bass, and guitar. Whatever our sound may be, we just do what feels right. And this seems to shift from time to time.

What is your main goal as a band?

To make and release the music that we want to make. We also want to play live with this formation of the band, a thing we haven´t done yet.

That said, our main objective is to focus on writing more music that is interesting to us. That´s what's drives us and (hopefully) gives us some kind of peace of mind at the end of the day. Guess we don´t make music for the charts anyway, so money and fame is not really an issue here!

What drove you to become musicians?

The answer to this probably differs a bit depending on who in the band you´re asking. That said, what we do have in common is very likely to be our love to music that goes, not necessarily to the brain, but straight to the heart in a way. We believe this could be achieved in many different ways, and it needs to be said that it doesn´t always to be the most intricate and complicated songs that get you there. By listening to us, you might think that it´s just the more … seemingly difficult and doleful tunes that do it. But that´s not the case. The Cure might be a perfect example of this, in some ways anyway, especially regarding the songs where the lyrics goes more or less against the music. The last song on our album, ‘An Open Door for Sorrow, is probably our best example, where the music may sound kind of upbeat and while the lyrics says more or less completely different thing.

What can you tell us about the highlights of your carrer?

Our highlight so far must be the work and release of the album. While the Ep´s was such a long process and kind of a restart for us in many ways, it now feels like we´re on the right track. It´s like there´s really no restraints anymore, and we could probably go anywhere we want from now on. So that´s probably it. As you can see we got a lot to do in the future!

An Electronic Dark Wave Synth-pop Duo from 2 Sides of The World where we conducted an interview. This week we bring you a review of their latest EP ONE.

Unknown Land – UNO

Unknown Land dives headfirst into an origami-like approach to songwriting. Pieces fold into themselves with the utmost of precision. Lush tones radiance with a tremendous power. The production of these geometric sounds feels stunning, as the entire collection washes over the listener. Right in the center of it all are Lucia Ponticas striking vocals, whose commanding presence lends the entire collection such intensity. At times Unknown Land’s work recalls Björk’s early albums, with a perfect balance of industrial edged tenderness. How Unknown Land manages to bring this together, sweeping symphonies of icy synthesizers with neon-hued electro allows for the entire collection to display an incredible range of color. By letting the tracks interact so effortlessly the collection is best taken in as a unified whole.

“Liquid” introduces the collection with such style. Cinematic flourishes filter into the forefront. The ambient bliss transforms into a clever industrial pop sort of temperament. Far darker in tone “Joker” goes for a sweeping ominous. Strangely catchy, the nimble rhythms add to the otherworldly charm of the track. Aggressive synthesizers give “Light” a cold, electro-influenced wash. Quite tactile, everything about the song has a kaleidoscopic aura to it. Easily the highlight of the entire collection comes with the beautiful “True Cost”. Featuring an inviting groove, the piece has a seductive quality to it courtesy of the passionate vocals. Nicely bringing the collection to a close is the reflective “Dreaming”.

With “UNO” Unknown Land traverses unusual terrain, resulting in a rich experience one that feels fully immersive. Album review by Beachsloth.

Back on track with our Weekly Discoveries, today we bring you Unknown Land. A Synthpop duo collaborating from 2 different corners of the world. A perfect balance between Lucia Ponticas (Chile) and Rob Bryant (Australia), two musicians on opposite sides of the earth, making music through satellites in space. Two musicians who are on an extreme and futuristic mission, to create dark and beautiful music, without physical limits.

The project was conceived in 2015 after Lucia and Rob met on Twitter, promoting their respective solo projects Lucia Fenix and Bare Island. Very quickly they realized their styles complimented each other perfectly, and Unknown Land was born.

One of the things that cought us off guard was that they have never met each other in person, but as they dreamed of the same music, with the same passion, They've been able to work this project out releasing several EPs.

I contacted them via Twitter to conduct a Q&A for our blog. I was very happy and delighted when they accepted. It's an honour for us to promote their beutiful dark music.

After the success of Unknown Land's debut album 33° and follow up the REDLINE EP, Unknown Land presents UNO. "A complete original journey to a parallel world"

How will you describe your sound?

We describe our sound as “beautiful sounds and dark rhythms from another world”, since our general aesthetic is futuristic but somewhat obscure, created in a parallel world in which this Unknown Land exists. Our sound is essentially electronic, but we focus on finding a musical idea without specific style. For that we use all our resources including voice, guitar, bass guitar, drums, etc. We do not limit ourselves by distance, so we do not limit ourselves to the resources we use to express ourselves.

Our sound has echoes of the past, but we always strive to be creative and unique, we always push each other in that aspect. We work closely together on production and bring elements from all over time and space, from goth to trip hop, post punk to electronic.

What can you tell us about your musical influences?

This is always such a hard question to answer. Obviously we are standing on the shoulders of giants, and we have many, many influences! But they have all become blurred into something different. I think if you were trying to understand our sound in terms of references I would start with artists from the early 80s like Cocteau Twins, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Depeche Mode and Japan, go back in time to Isao Tomita, Jarre and Vangelis, fast forward to Radiohead, NIN and Massive Attack, on to Lorn and Fever Ray.

What is your main goal as a band?

Our goal is to keep creating music and pushing our creativity as far as we can, developing our own sound and artistic point of view. We feel we have something very unique to the two of us that is tangible and easily identifiable when you hear it. All of our work strives to develop that point of view without compromise. We would love to reach a larger audience, but that is always a secondary consideration to being true to ourselves and our art.

What drove you to become musicians?

We both grew up surrounded by music, with musician parents, but over time our love for music became our way of expressing ourselves and communicating, and finally our passion. In very different realities, the goal was the same.

We both started in bands, playing synthesizers, playing live and recording and then expanding to other more analogous veins such as voice or bass, to finally experiment in our solo careers, to return to the essence of what led us to become musicians: express ourselves freely and communicate our way of feeling and understanding the world.

How do you approach the challenge of being musicians in 2018?

Both of us feel that now is one of the greatest times to be a musician, especially for electronic producers like us. Semi pro audio software is truly powerful now, and it is possible to create professional quality recordings in a home studio if you work hard and are patient.

With the rise of social media it has become easier to reach niche audiences. In all the years we spent making music on a four track tape deck, it never got heard. Now we know the music we are making is reaching a small audience that really understands us, it is inspiring.

What can you tell us about the highlights of your carrer?

We have developed careers in music in our respective countries, we have participated in bands and in our solo projects, we have recorded and interpreted music for many years, but for both of us the most significant milestone has certainly been to meet each other online. As soon as we met we were immediately attracted by the sound and sensitivity of the other, and that has led us to an intense and very rewarding level of artistic development, which is just beginning.

Each release has been a big event for us, we have learned to be honest with ourselves and trust each other and leave behind our egos. That has led us to push ourselves to overcome our limits, so each new production is a new achievement for us, of which we are always very proud. So we are really excited about our new EP coming out at the end of March. It's a landmark change in sound for us, it's still our essential character, but the style has evolved into something new.

What do you use to produce your music? Any special gear you can tell us about ?

For the first release “33°” we were working almost completely in the box with VSTs, plugging guitar directly in and using amp sims. By “Redline” The guitar had moved out of the box and we were using an outboard effects pedalboard and two guitar amps in stereo.

We started incorporating more hardware on “Redline”, with a Moog Sub Phatty featuring on “Qualia”, and this marked the start of a switch to hardware for us on the latest release.

Both of us have started using analog synths in production and on UNO almost all the synthesizers are hardware. We used the Sub Phatty, a Korg MS20 mini, a vintage Oberheim Matrix 1000 , Korg Minilogue and a Yamaha TX218, basically a rack mount with the sound engine of 2 original DX7 synths on board.

Both Robs guitar rig and Lucia’s vocal booth have evolved a huge amount leading up to the latest EP.

We are both using Studio One and find it powerful and intuitive with a very streamlined workflow.

Last week we brought you the amazing Mirum Mulier. Experimental Ambient IDM from Russia where we conducted an interview. This week we bring you a review of her album The Bad Places. One of our favorites.

Mirum Mulier – The Bad Places

Mirum Mulier creates a mysterious dream-like world on the swirling ambiance of “The Bad Places”. Transmissions from another universe tie the pieces together. A freedom allows Mirum Mulier to explore a wide variety of styles, from electro to industrial to even elements of classical making their way into the mix.

Impossible to properly categorize, Mirum Mulier dwells within this surreal space, with vocals swimming through the dense mix. During pivotal moments of the album, the wordless vocals at times recall a futuristic sort of Gregorian chant.

Various distorted transmissions open the album on the distorted opener “The Door”. Melodies linger deep within the track’s DNA never quite fully coming into focus. Layer upon layer of sound comes into the mix on the dark ambient isolationism of “Closer”. Highly introspective Mirum Mulier lets the track build up into a gorgeous cinematic flourish that at times feels triumphant. Backward samples merge together to create a virtual stream of consciousness on the hard to pin down oddity of “The Ghosts” with these snippets helping to give the piece an almost nostalgic hue, recalling the Caretaker’s fondness for exploring the long-forgotten. Intimacy takes hold with the soothing quality of “Euphoria” where Mirum Mulier lets the sounds ring out up into the sky. Nicely closing out the album the cosmic work of “The End” references some of the more experimental works of Spectrum Spools’ overture.

With “The Bad Places” Mirum Mulier take us into a mystical psychedelic realm, one that at times feels so intimate and highly unique. Album review by Beachsloth.

A few weeks ago I dug myself into the depths of Spotify searching for new music to add to our monthly mixtape. I was astonished when I listened to the track Away by the Artist Mirum Mulier. After some research, I contacted her on the social media and I was delighted when she accepted to be interviewed for our music blog.

Tatiana Burkova goes by the artist name Mirum Mulier, born and raised in Russia. Since the age of 5, she has been playing the piano and nowadays she divides her music career into music production and lessons as a music teacher. For 25 years she has been breading music in all its manifestations. Since 2014, she released 3 albums, a remix album and a collaboration with MindDivided. Her latest EP On The Way to Dream was released on February 28th, 2018 under Bandcamp.

&amp;amp;lt;a data-cke-saved-href="http://mirummulierofficial.bandcamp.com/album/on-the-way-to-dream" href="http://mirummulierofficial.bandcamp.com/album/on-the-way-to-dream"&amp;amp;gt;On The Way To Dream by Mirum Mulier and Mind.Divided&amp;amp;lt;/a&amp;amp;gt;

What are your musical influences?

When I wrote my first track (Deep Space - Purple) I only knew electronic music from Jean Michel Jarre. I had an old synthesizer Casio and Cubase 5 on a computer. The music began to sound itself in my head. Everything was already there. Gradually It turned out and the melodies started to find their own way. Later, I began to get acquainted with the music of Interstice, Dirk Geiger, ISH, Mind Divided. Separately I want to mention the creativity of ToKee (Anatoly Grinberg). I adore his tracks. Especially the album Struktura. One of the greatest influence I had is Meta Meat. I believe that Phil Von is a performance genius. I watched many of his live shows that inspired me to realize and build an idea inside of me that I have never used before and decided to implement it on my music and shows. It inspired me in so many ways.

How would you describe your music?

I think it's pretty dark. I perceive the tracks visually, so they remind me a lot of pictures, stories. For me, concepts are very important. I carefully think about the details.

What are your goals as a musician?

If I talk about my goals, then, of course, like any creator, I want to give music to people. Therefore, I very often arrange lotteries and try to give as much as possible my music for free. For me, the response of people, healing their soul is very important.

What can you tell us about your career highlights?

In 2016 I asked some musicians for a collaboration, they kindly accepted to do a remix of my track Like You from the IntroVert album. Later on, there was an album release with all the remixes. I am proud of this release because it was attended by greatest musicians and producers like Interstice, RecFrag, Neotropic, Dirk Geiger, Vigook and Tokee to name a few.

Plike is the brainchild of Mad Madam Em, an electronic music producer/composer hailing from Reno, Nevada. The sound of Plike is at once hauntingly beautiful and disturbingly dark, an eccentric layering of natural, organic sounds against heavy digital elements.

Em began her musical journey in 2003, playing bass for the San Diego based industrial / electro band Bishop Buzzkill. In 2005, she began to experiment with keys, synths, drum programming and vocal sequencing and quickly fell in love with electronic music production and music composition. In early 2014, Plike was born, and the following November Em released her debut solo album, 47th Helen.

We reached out Em to know a bit more about the persona and character behind this machine called Plike. We asked her a few questions to have a better understanding of her sound, music influences, and career highlights. I will recommend to any producer or musician out there to read this interview in full with one of her albums as a background. It will transport you to another dimension. My pick to start this journey is the album 47th Helen.

What are your musical influences?

I've always been very drawn to music that is very polarizing and raw. The Dresden Dolls have been a huge influence. Amanda Palmer's lyrics are so surreal and powerful, and their sound has this wonderful vintage vaudeville vibe about it. Every time I listen to The Prodigy I get so inspired. Liam Howlett is just absolutely brilliant. Portishead was my introduction to trip-hop, and probably one of my biggest influences. And I love music that has a gritty, visceral bite to it, like Fear Factory, Nine Inch Nails and Celldweller.

How will you describe your sound?

I'd say my sound is a bit of a conglomeration of several genres, but with a twist on each. I wanted to capture the eerie spirit of witch house, and I love the occult themes of the genre, but my sound is more of a play on witch house, much softer and less aggressive. I definitely have a trip-hop vibe going on in most of my songs. I like to play around with pieces of genres, like dubstep-inspired drums or trap hi-hats. It's fun to Frankenstein these sounds together and see what you come up with. All of my music has a very strong focus on female vocal harmonies, and I think that gives it a very melancholy, ethereal feel.

What is your main goal as a producer?

I've always wanted to find a niche that would allow me to focus on composing music for films. Not so much the Howard Shore or John Williams composer model, but more like Aimee Mann's work on the Paul Thomas Anderson film Magnolia, or M83's work on the science fiction film Oblivion. I love the work that Trent Reznor has done with David Lynch especially.

What drove you to become a musician?

Ever since I was a kid, I've always had all these creative concepts that I think of as "stories" that I felt driven to tell. When I was young, I started out painting and drawing and that was a good outlet for about 10 years. I'm also a writer, and I'm currently working on my first novel. But ultimately, once I started playing music I realized that being a musician was my perfect creative outlet. To be able to express thoughts, ideas and emotions through music feels so natural to me, I feel like this is what I'm meant to be doing.

What can you tell us about your career highlights?

My heart is so grateful every time I think of the opportunities I've been given as a musician. Before I started Plike, I played bass in the industrial / metal band Bishop Buzzkill for five years, and that was the first time I'd ever had the opportunity to see an electronic producer at work. I spent a lot of my time in that group learning from that producer. In 2014, I decided to write my first solo album. It was so exciting to be able to experiment and try new things, but when it came time to release the album, I honestly didn't know how people would receive it. So I thought, I just have to put it out there and see what happens, and no matter what happens everything will be okay. I was truly shocked at the positive reaction people had to it! Sometimes it's so hard to step back far enough from your own work to determine, is it good, great, mediocre, is it terrible? In early 2015, I submitted my album to Pandora radio, and I was shocked as hell again when they accepted it and added Plike to their artist roster. A few months later, I came across an advertisement seeking original music for an independent film. A few days after I submitted my music, the producer contacted me to say that they had chosen three of my songs for the film. That had to be just about the best day of my life. Since then I've had several of my songs placed in films, and I'm really excited that one of my tracks was chosen for the upcoming film Time Freak starring Sophie Turner and Asa Butterfield. Last year the creative lead of Oak Moon Games contacted me to see if I would be interested in joining their team as a lead audio designer. That has been just an incredible experience. I've been a gaming addict since I was a kid, so this was another one of my dreams come true. And I've had the chance to collaborate with some of my favorite indie artists - a collaboration I did with the amazing German composer EWIAN is set to release next year, and I'm currently working on collabs with The Black Hundred and producer LAPIS EXILIS.

Plike currently has 5 amazing albums. Each of them has an amazing sound and the production is top level in each of them. As she explained the sound is a conglomeration of different genres. Very difficult to pick a favorite one when the music in each album is evolving to place where I have never been. I would love to stay here forever. Until this moment Plike has been my favorite artist discovery. It has everything I'm looking for, extraordinary dark soundscapes with a twitch of space atmospheres, beautiful melodies and all that back up with an angel voice. Its the type of music that takes you to a dark corner of your soul but at the same time makes you feel comfortable. I can say that Plike has the best of both worlds. Clearly, an artist to put on your daily playlist.

Experimenting on my Spotify artist radio In External came out on my recommendations.

After I heard the first song Faux Love on Spotify my mind was blown away.

Some days later I decided to contact In External to know more about his music and persona.

Matt Rogers AKA In External is a music producer from the United States, based in Florida.

In External is an amalgamation of everything he loves in music: Darkness, dissonance, melody, intensity, mystery, and theme. He pours all of his influences into the songs in order to create something that moves him, and in turn, moves you.

He describes his music as a mix between grunge, electronica and space travel all rolled into one.

In External has always been an outlet for him. Because of the freedom that electronic orchestration provides, He can truly capture the sounds and atmospheres surrounding the depths of his consciousness

I will totally recommend to any electronic music lover out there to dig In External. This is quality electronic music from outer space.

A must for anyone who loves space soundscapes. This is music from the future.

A great example of that is the album Internal Division released via Bandcamp.

Back in July, we made an album review of Gianluca Livi’s blissful “Fleeting Steps”. Today we bring you an exclusive interview with the creator of Fleeting Steps and the Art Director of Eclectic Productions. To keep track you can read the full review HERE.

Alex Marenga (left): aka Amptek, he is the Art Director of Eclectic Productions (www.eclectic.it) and founder member of Entropia, an experimental band from Rome.

Gianluca Livi (right): Set apart the 70s hard rock mood with his band Anno Mundi - very close to early Black Sabbath - as a soloist, Gianluca Livi’s approach is free and visionary, with a very measured presence of its own instrument, the drums, while opting for electronic percussive devices as well as noise studio devices and effects (here is the review of his solo album).

Gianluca, how was the public reaction to your latest ambient release?

Gianluca Livi: Globally good! Just two weeks and “Fleeting steps” received magnificent reviews in Italy, UK, and France (https://gllivi.wixsite.com/fleetingsteps).

The listeners enjoyed the album and this is amazing if you think that I'm a perfect unknown in the range of ambient and experimental music.

I have to thank, for this, Alex Marenga and all at the Eclectic Productions, his terrific label, which promoted the album in a magnificent way.

Alex, what is the purpose of Eclectic Productions?

Alex Marenga: As a producer, I am interested in discovering new languages and artists that are confronted with paradigms of “music and technology” or “sound and noise”.

Please tell us about your background.

Alex Marenga: When I was young I studied guitar and jazz harmony. I played in many jazz-rock and rock groups in the 80's. I've always been interested in the rock of the 70's, and in particular in the German cosmic rock and Brian Eno's experiments. In the early 90's, I got closer to the new trends in electronic music with my projects Amptek and Entropia. I graduated in communication sciences with a thesis on Luigi Russolo and Futurism and I am interested in contemporary art.

Gianluca Livi: I started playing drums when I was a teenager. I stopped at 28 and started again at 40.
At the same time, I have always stumbled guitar, which allows me to compose music.

How did your musical career begin?

Alex Marenga: My career began as a musician in 80's as guitarist in jazz and neo-prog bands.

Gianluca Livi: I released with Anno Mundi, a hard rock band from Rome, two albums and one cd as independent issues, distributed by the label BTF/Earshock, along with being part of compilations “Kissed By Kiss” and “Metal Years”, published by “Celtic Moon Records” and “Ace Records” respectively.

At the moment, the band is alive and well, waiting to publish the third vinyl. Our musical style is the mighty seventies, based on a heavy Sabbathian guitar sound. We also experimented with acoustic parts, wind instruments, prog extensions, and tiny experimental parts. As a soloist, I wanted to expand the incursions into experimental music. A very good song came out, then another and so on, until the whole album "Fleeting Steps" was made.

Explain your musical influences, particular bands, and records that have influenced you.

Alex Marenga: My musical influences come from very different styles and artists. Miles Davis, Brian Eno, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Ennio Morricone, Parliament Funkadelic, Kraftwerk, Klaus Schulze, Sun Ra, Pink Floyd, John Cage, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, King Crimson, Popol Vuh, Luigi Nono are authors who have had great influence on my work. Brian Eno's and Jon Hassel's "Forth World: Possible Music", Miles Davis's "Bitches Brew", and Pink Floyd's “Ummagumma" or Kraftwerk “Trans Europe Express” were important for my training.

Gianluca Livi: I started listening to the Beatles. Subsequently, I expanded my mind listening to prog-rock, hard rock, heavy, jazz, experimental. But, I often come back to The Beatles, the band who first proposed all these genres.

How would you define your own music?

Alex Marenga: As an author, I realized both works inspired by atonal-noise and contemporary music that IDM and experimental dance. In particular, I am also interested in hybridizing the guitar with new digital technologies to find new spaces for this instrument.

Gianluca Livi: as a soloist, my music is reflexive and visionary, sometimes cryptic. Just ambient, just experimental, with a little bit of drone. As co-founder of Anno Mundi, I'm just “a soldier in the Rock and Roll Army” (lol).

What tools do you use to create your music?

Alex Marenga: I use Steinberg Cubase, Ableton Live and many hardware devices: analog synths, modular eurorack synthesizers, drum machines, guitar synthesizers.

Gianluca Livi: In “Fleeting Steps”, I played electronic drums and I used Cool Edit Pro 2.0 software. All the others musicians played real instruments (analog synths, piano, bass, and guitar). Stefano Pontani, the guitarist, also used an Echoplex Digital Pro loop station, and Moebius software.

How do you approach the challenge of being musicians in 2017?

Alex Marenga: Today a musician lives in a technical revolution age that has no equality since the introduction of electricity at the beginning of the twentieth century.

Technology is a pervasive element in contemporary society. No man has ever been so intimately connected with others, with so much information available. We are no longer in the world 50 years ago and not even the music is. So today the musician has to be able to represent this new world with the right sounds.

How difficult is to stand out nowadays among tons of artists brought onto the scene thanks to the internet?

Alex Marenga: It has always been difficult to get out. Before, you were simply ignored. Yesterday, anyone who wanted to play did but the market decided who was worthy of ending in the media. Today, everyone can access dominant media, the only discrimination is the cost of promotion. Who has more money available can emerge from the internet with greater ease.

Gianluca Livi: today anyone can propose his own idea. Unfortunately, there is more competition and, sometimes, less visibility. There are too many musicians, not always so professionals and for this reason, the musical journalists are often annoyed by many proposals and they don't identify the most interesting and creative music.

Which artists are you listening to at the moment?

Alex Marenga: I listen The Heliocentrics, Jlin, Burial, Max Richter, Machinefabriek , Sigur Ros, FKA Twigs, Shackleton, Alva Noto, Colin Stetson, Dasha Rush, Xiu Xiu, Autechre, Radiohead, Robert Henke, Ryoji Ikeda, Bonobo, Stian Westerhus, Ólafur Arnalds, Kamasi Washington, Sunn O))), Ishq, Aphex Twin, Six Organs Of Admittance and many others.

Gianluca Livi: At the moment, I'm a hard supporter of Jimi Hendrix, King Crimson, Ezra Winston, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Ennio Morricone, all the Italian prog bands of the seventies, many southern rock bands and thrash metal bands of the eighties. I'm also enjoying since Kate Bush came back on stage and David Lee Roth rejoined Van Halen.

Gianluca Livi’s blissful “Fleeting Steps” delves into a dreamy otherworldliness, one whose gentle sweeps defy easy categorization. Spacious in scope, Gianluca Livi gives their sound room to roam. At times the songs resemble mere suites in a greater symphony, for the classical underpinnings within the album are undeniable. Reminiscent of Tim Hecker’s lovely fusion of the tactile with the surreal, the songs soar into the sky.

The rich textures draw from a wide variety of styles, running from drone to post-rock to shimmering ambience with an emotional core drawing all of it together. Instrumentally dense as well, the way that the many elements play together gives the album an exploratory fervor to it. Without saying a single word the pieces unfold to reveal a story of sorts, hinted at in the song titles. Quite passionate the pieces build on each other, until reaching the very core of the album.

By far the heart of the album rests with the angelic metamorphosis of the aptly named “Talkin’ to an Alien About Eternity”. Everything about this piece represents the best of the album from the way the guitars glisten to the gentle piano work, whose tenderness is palpable. The way the song evolves gives it a hypnotic quality for Gianluca Livi allows the smallest of details to have the greatest impact. By the final stretch of the surreal quality of the song takes over, as the ringing backwards adds to the sense of impermanence.

“Fleeting Steps” reveals Gianluca Livi to be a phenomenal sculptor of sound, one whose unique pieces linger in the mind long after they have ended.

They are Silent Chaos, but before anything you should know that these guys are not messing around. They are deep into dark ambient and creepy atmospheres.

As the name says the music transport you in a special mental chaos to another dimension.

A silent chaos where the property of a complex sound whose behaviour is so unpredictable as to appear random, owing to great sensitivity to small changes in the frequencies and colour of the rhythm itself.

Silent Chaos is a duo, or better, a musical at one born from the union of different artistic personalities, creating an essence where opposites coexist happily and stimulate each other. Ugo Vantini has grown and developed into a dense primordial soup of progressive rock contaminated by jazz and classical music, Marta Noone, however, is the restless part of an electronic generation born under the nuclear shadow of Chernobyl, which is fed by industrial music.

The Silent Chaos music in "micro" is the first part of a double project (micro-MACRO) where is narrated the evocation of archetypes buried in the collective unconscious, shown in a new intellectually (the manner of Plotinus) emotional light.

The use of electronic tools, such as modular synthesizer, sequencer and battery pad that controls loops and samples, offers to Silent Chaos a wide sound palette, from which Silent Chaos draw to define the personal stylistic framework.

Each composition determines a special universe in which crop up echoes of concrete music, choirs, tribal sounds, noise and ambient, in sound experiments that envelop and surprise even those not accustomed to listening to these genres.

Listening to "micro-MACRO" demands special attention, to immerse deeply in the particular atmosphere of each song evoked by the musicians; an attention that has been lost in this era of rapid artistic consumption, and against which the Silent Chaos are fighting, offering another vision of the moment that anyone, if he wants, can gaze into and share.

Another solid point in favour of this amazing duo is their live performance. It is very important for any artist to build their stage presence in order to transmit a solid message to the masses. Silent Chaos music is from another world. So be aware readers. It might open a portal to other dimensions.

A good example of that is one of their live shows recorded last March at The Basement Est in Rome. I was astonished by the visuals they have been using.
